SOLEMNITY OF SAINT DAVID
Patron saint of Wales (1st March)
There are many miracles about St David. The most famous miracle is said to have taken place on an occasion when he was preaching in the middle of a large crowd at the Synod of Brefi, at the village of Llanddewi Brefi. Some people had difficulty hearing him. Then the ground on which he stood rose up to form a small hill, making it possible for everyone to see and hear him. A white dove was also seen settling on his shoulder. St David is also known as ‘David the Water Drinker’. It is claimed that he ate only one meal a day of bread with vegetables and salt, and he was known for long fasts during which he drank nothing but water for several days. And in his missionary work it is said that "he opened many fountains in dry places.”
Mass will be at 10am All are welcome!
